چکیده

Parallel cluster architectures are an eeective way to build high-performance computer systems at a moderate price. Consequently clusters will become very attractive to parallel applications and high-end parallel servers, that are usually built around distributed object middleware. Commonly used middleware layers like CORBA have been speciically designed for heterogeneous computing within relatively slow networks. In contrast PC-and workstation clusters are homogeneous systems, that can be connected by very high-speed user-level networks. Only very lean and eecient middleware layers are therefore able to use such kind of communication infrastructure eeectively. In this paper we describe the architecture and implementation of Arts, a high-performance middleware layer developed for the Peace family of parallel operating systems and show that this mid-dleware is even applicable for the implementation of extremely performance sensitive virtual shared memory (VSM) systems.

Static Task Allocation in Distributed Systems Using Parallel Genetic Algorithm

Over the past two decades, PC speeds have increased from a few instructions per second to several million instructions per second. The tremendous speed of today's networks as well as the increasing need for high-performance systems has made researchers interested in parallel and distributed computing. The rapid growth of distributed systems has led to a variety of problems. Task allocation is a...

DISCWorld: A Distributed High Performance Computing Environment

An increasing number of science and engineering applications require distributed and parallel computing resources to satisfy user response-time requirements. Distributed science and engineering applications require a high performance “middleware” which will both allow the embedding of legacy applications as well as enable new distributed programs, and which allows the best use of existing and s...

Parallel computing using MPI and OpenMP on self-configured platform, UMZHPC.

Parallel computing is a topic of interest for a broad scientific community since it facilitates many time-consuming algorithms in different application domains. In this paper, we introduce a novel platform for parallel computing by using MPI and OpenMP programming languages based on set of networked PCs. UMZHPC is a free Linux-based parallel computing infrastructure that has been developed to cr...

A Cached Middleware to Improve I/O Performance using POSIX Interface

-The performance of computing devices is increasing day by day, the storage devices are not capable to reach with this benchmark. The compute and storage resources are forming two parts of the shared network. This paper is presenting a storage middleware called HyCache+ to reduce the high bi-section bandwidth of the parallel computing systems. The middleware uses POSIX interface to the end user...
